Drug treatment out-patient

Outpatient drug treatment centers are facilities which you attend on a daily or weekly schedule depending on the individual’s case, while still residing at home.
Outpatient drug treatment programs are tailored more from those suffering from milder cases of addiction. As opposed to drug treatment residential, the outpatient approach is always at risk as the addict goes back to his environment after his courses, meetings or counseling therefore being potential for relapse.
Drug Rehab Center Services has done some research through different outpatient facility. The success rate is not clear as far as outpatient treatment is concerned. From our investigation, one of the key points for this reason is that the aftercare is really not existent. Also the number of patients that finish the program has a really low average as they often choose to not go back.
When an alcoholic or a drug addict has a craving, when their addiction triggers, they need to have professional help right away to get them through that trigger or craving. The addict usually goes back to the environment that triggers his addiction. Then the addict is just good for another loss on getting sober.
The question is: What do I need? An outpatient drug treatment or a residential program?

Outpatient drug addiction treatment is as diverse as the addicted persons seeking treatment. Since drug addiction treatment has only been available since the early 70’s, there are many programs that are still changing their approaches to rehabilitation because they have not yet established a workable technology that guarantees a high rate of success. Certainly, putting a stop to the devastating use of drugs is an important step, but research on the true success of treatment demonstrates that most people that have totally recovered from drug addiction have attended multiple programs before they finally were able to live a drug-free life. There is abundant research that document’s that outpatient drug addiction treatment is half or less effective than inpatient. In essence, the most problematic element in outpatient care is the inability of the program to control the access of drug use while the person is in treatment.
